“Monsters exist because they are part of the divine plan, and in the horrible features of those same monsters the power of the Creator is revealed.” ― Umberto Eco, The Name of the Rose.
Description
Cloister Secrets is an experimental video game inspired by Eco’s famous novel The Name of the Rose and its derived movies and games, especially La Abadía del Crimen (Opera Soft, 1988). In this case, instead of playing the “detective” role puzzling out the mysterious deaths occurred in a medieval monastery, the player takes control of the old monk who is behind all those intrigues, the antagonist in the original story. He has been given a divine mission to save this sinful abbey, exhorting all his younger brothers to fear the Devil and prepare their souls for the upcoming Apocalypse.
